Trasporti Sistemi Ferroviari - general contractor of the Copenhagen Metro
In 1996 Ørestadsselskabet chose Ansaldo as the contractor of the Copenhagen Metro train system and the contract
was signed in October that year. The contract includes delivery and installation of everything belonging to the Metro
system itself, i.e. trains, permanent way, all safety and automation systems, power supply, communication systems etc.

different subsystems that together forms the Copenhagen Metro. Ansaldo co-operates with several sub-suppliers of which
some are affiliated companies and subsidiary companies of the same big group. See, for instance, Union
Switch & Signal that supplies the automation system (ATC) for the Metro. Included in the contract is also
the
responsibility for operation and maintenance
of the Metro for at least 5 years. To manage the operation and maintenance job Ansaldo has chosen the operator company
Metro Service A/S, situated in the the Metro Control and Maintenance Center in Ørestad. You can also read about
